11 congressmen urge Mondale to pick Hart
Eleven Democratic congressmen urged Walter Mondale Thursday to pick his chief rival, Colorado Sen. Gary Hart, as his vice-presidential running mate. The congressmen, in a letter to Mr. Mondale, said a Mondale-Hart ticket would heal divisions in the party caused by the long primary battle between the former vice-president, Mr. Hart, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.
