Withdrawal slip almost deposited her in jail
A bewildered woman was arrested by police in an Ottawa bank when she went innocently in to withdraw $95. What she did not notice was that someone had scrawled on the back of the withdrawal slip she picked up: ''This is a holdup. I have a gun.''
Police arrested the woman, whose name was not given. She was released, after a handwriting test showed she had not written the note.
Bank manager Pierre-Andre Raby said the woman was either the victim of a practical joke or had mistakenly grabbed a would-be robber's forgotten note.
