Mondale may name No. 2 soon; Ferraro atop list?

Democratic presidential candidate Walter Mondale may name his vice-presidential running mate this weekend and is giving serious thought to Rep. Geraldine A. Ferraro of New York, the Associated Press reported Wednesday.

But Mr. Mondale also has Sen. Gary Hart, San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein , and San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros in mind, according to unnamed sources quoted in the report.

Sources in Washington told the AP that Mondale is giving ''very serious consideration'' to Mrs. Ferraro and Mayor Feinstein.
