Britain expels 2 diplomats over Nigerian kidnapping

Britain said Thursday it expelled two Nigerian diplomats over the kidnapping of a former Nigerian Cabinet minister and that members of the African nation's embassy in London appeared implicated in the plot.

The foreign secretary, Sir Geoffrey Howe, told the House of Commons the expulsions were ordered because Nigeria refused to allow its diplomats to be questioned about last week's kidnapping of former Transport Minister Umaru Dikko.
