God's law brings freedom'Comparable worth' theory for granting equal pay has its flaws
Have you ever felt victimized by the unprincipled actions of others? You do not have to be bitter or live in despair. There is a divine law of good in operation that can bless each of us when it is understood. No matter how long the trouble seems to have endured, this law of good can bring freedom, fulfilling God's promise ''I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.'' n1
n1 Joel 2:25
As we look beyond human wrong to claim spiritual justice as our own, we begin to see more evidence of justice in our daily affairs. In actual fact, there is never a moment that this quality of divine Principle, God, is not present. It is always the reality of being, irrespective of appearances. Through the understanding that man is forever God-governed, God's goodness becomes more apparent; situations that need to be corrected are resolved in ways appropriate for all concerned; we come to see that no person, in reality, determines the state of our health, happiness, or well-being.
We are all God's beloved children. He cares for each of us, at all times. A conscious awareness of His love and supreme power can transform our experience, much as it did Joseph's in early Bible times.
Joseph had what seemed to be one bad experience after another. His jealous brothers conspired to kill him. But instead he was put into a pit, then sold into slavery.
While serving in the home of Potiphar, an Egyptian officer, he was falsely accused of adultery by his master's wife. He was imprisoned, but the Bible says, ''The Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.'' The account goes on to say, ''And that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper.'' n2
n2 Genesis 39:21
Joseph's fidelity to God and his spiritual vision enabled him to help others even while he was a prisoner - including Pharaoh, who freed him and put him in charge of the affairs of Egypt. He was then in a position to help his own family when his brothers came to buy food during a widespread famine.
In spite of the hardships he had faced, Joseph was able to forgive his brothers in all sincerity. He had seen clearly that God's goodness neutralizes evil and that He alone truly governs man.
We condemn ourselves to suffering when we yield to the belief of injustice and hurt. It is not what somebody does to us, but how we view a situation, that determines the quality of experience we have. When we know the spiritual facts of being, we gain dominion over events.
Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, illustrates this point in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures when she says, ''Understanding the control which Love held over all, Daniel felt safe in the lions' den, and Paul proved the viper to be harmless.'' n3 She also states, ''Reflecting God's government, man is self-governed.'' n4

n4 Ibid.,
To the degree that we understand God's absolute control over all His creation and know that His will for everyone is good, we are able to perceive good so that everyone is blessed.
Drawing, as Christ Jesus did, on the infinite resources of God, divine Mind, to guide us, we find the wisdom and inspiration that help us to prosper. We can experience the fulfillment of the divine promise in Revelation to the church in Philadelphia: ''I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it.'' n5
n5 Revelation 3:8
DAILY BIBLE VERSE Thou art near, O Lord; and all thy commandments are truth.... Consider mine affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget thy law. Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word....Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O Lord, according to thy loving kindness. Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever....Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. Psalms 119:151, 153, 154, 159, 160, 165.
