Duarte, on trip to seek aid, winds up in Washington

President Reagan conferred Monday with President Jose Napoleon Duarte of El Salvador in a meeting underscoring the administration's continued support for the Central American country and to kick off a drive for more aid to the troubled region.

Mr. Duarte arrived in the United States Sunday after completing a five-nation tour through Western Europe.

Congress, returning from a three-week recess, faces an agenda that includes administration requests for $116 million in additional aid for El Salvadore
