War games near El Salvador planned by US, Honduras

The United States and Honduras will hold a series of small-scale war games for the next two weeks near the Salvadorean border and the rebel-dominated province of Morazan, the US Embassy and Honduran military officials say.

The war games are designed ''to improve the abilities of personnel of the United States and Honduras to react and operate in real situations, usually on very short notice,'' a communique from the Honduran armed forces said.
