Duarte says US legislators promise to back aid plan

President Jose Napoleon Duarte, returning from an 11-day tour of Europe and the United States, said US congressional leaders have pledged to back a $251 million aid package for his war-ravaged country. He said they assured him Monday they would seek passage of $117 million in military aid and $134 million in economic assistance.
