Chinese official off for visit to 4 Latin American nations

Chinese Foreign Minister Wu Xueqian left Tuesday on a trip to four Latin American countries to broaden Chinese diplomatic ties with the region. He will visit Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, and Brazil.$ Correction

In the Monitor's recent series on Islam (July 23-27), a portion of Arabic script was mistakenly reproduced in reverse. In the same series, the Monitor reported that in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, women may not hold jobs. They may, in fact, do so, but only under certain conditions which restrict women from the same workplace as men.
