Angola pledges to work with US for Cuban troop pullout
Angolan President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos has pledged to work toward the withdrawal of about 25,000 Cuban troops from the country as part of a regional peace settlement, The Washington Post said Sunday.
In an interview from Luanda, President Dos Santos said he had undertaken to work with the Reagan administration for the independence of Namibia. But he warned that ''the problems of the South African occupation of Angola and of independence for Namibia must be solved before the withdrawal of Cuban troops can be agreed to between Cuba and Angola.''
