Radicals tied to Brink's case arrested in New York raid
More than 300 FBI agents and police officers swarmed an apartment building Thursday and arrested nine members of the New Afrika Freedom Fighters, a group linked to radicals who carried out a big Brink's robbery in 1981. Authorities had been tracking the group for six months.
The New Afrika group claims it is fighting for black liberation from US imperialism and advocates the formation of a separate black nation carved from the states of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and South Carolina.
