Westmoreland didn't order fake figures, CBS trial told
The top former US intelligence official in Vietnam testified Wednesday that Gen. William C. Westmoreland did not order him to fake estimates of enemy troop strength.
Gen. Phillip B. Davidson, a witness in General Westmoreland's $120 million libel suit against CBS, also said the network never contacted him when preparing a documentary charging there was a high-level military conspiracy to suppress truthful intelligence reports.
