French journalist returns home from Afghan prison

French television journalist Jacques Abouchar arrived home Saturday after being released by the Soviet-backed Afghan government. In a show trial conducted by an Afghan military court, he was sentenced on Oct. 20 to 18 years in an Afghan prison for illegally entering the country. He was also charged with aiding guerrillas fighting the Kabul regime. Abouchar and his crew entered Afghanistan to film and report on the fighting.
