FBI arrests 8 in alleged plot to kill Honduran President

The FBI announced Thursday it had arrested eight exiled Honduran businessmen in an alleged plot to assassinate President Roberto Suazo of Honduras and take over the country. They allegedly funded the attempt with money from cocaine sales.

FBI Director William H. Webster said a Honduran general, Jose A. Bueso-Rosa, who is the military attache posted to the Honduran Embassy in Santiago, Chile, was among those named in a criminal complaint filed in US District Court in Miami. The FBI said more arrests are expected.
