Boris Souvarine, co-founder of French Communist Party

Boris Souvarine, who passed on here last Thursday, was a former companion of Soviet Communist leaders Lenin and Trotsky and co-founder of the French Communist Party.

During the French Socialist Party congress in 1920, he strongly defended the Soviet government and was a driving force in the split between pro-Soviets and Socialists which contributed to the creation of the French Communist Party.
