Reagan retraces political path as '84 trail ends in California

President Reagan returned to California yesterday to end his 1984 campaign with an election-eve tour of his home state, described by a spokesman as ''a nostalgic trip.''

The first event was a rally with singer Frank Sinatra on the steps of the California Capitol at the same spot where he took the oath of office as governor of California 18 years ago, his first elected public office. Other speeches yesterday were scheduled at a college football stadium in Los Angeles and a final rally at the same San Diego shopping center where he ended his 1980 presidential campaign.
