Some progress seen in session on Israeli exit from LebanonUS, USSR hold grain talks; a Soviet czar to tour US farms

US and Soviet officials meet in Washington today for talks on grain. The consultations, scheduled twice yearly under a five-year grain agreement, were last held in Moscow in May. The Soviet Union, facing its sixth consecutive poor harvest, is expected to import a record 50 million tons of grain this year, of which 17 to 18 million tons may come from the United States.

Next week Soviet Agriculture Minister Valentin Mesyats is to visit the US for an unusual two-week tour of American farms.
