Pushing the wheeled wire-hunger down these supermarket aisles my hand reaches, reaches, reaches like claws in a penny arcade machine clutching and dropping small prizes that glide between the mountain shelves. Here dressed cans of fish and ham, sea food, chicken, veal, and beef lead to cans of more exotic hues: I look for bluebirds in a box and find my hunger never stops.
