Reagan orders $34 billion cut from domestic spending

President Reagan told his Cabinet Wednesday to cut $34 billion from the government's domestic programs, and that the rate of growth in Pentagon spending will have to be slowed.

White House spokesman Larry Speakes said the savings would be achieved through freezing some programs, cutting back others, and eliminating still others.
