John Denver, the singer, calls for 'summit' with Soviet stars
Folk singer John Denver said Wednesday his 12-day tour of the Soviet Union proved the two superpowers ''want the same things'' and has inspired him to try and arrange a ''summit meeting'' of rock stars.
''When you are singers, you can say things straight from'' the heart - unlike politicians, he said. ''The most important thing we can do today . . . is further the relationship between our countries,'' he added. ''There is every opportunity for a cultural relationship between our two countries.''
