Former Georgia official gets prison in boat-sinking case
Former Georgia Labor Commissioner Sam Caldwell was sentenced Tuesday to 30 months in federal prison for his conviction on charges of mail and insurance fraud stemming from the 1982 sinking of his yacht. He was ordered to serve two 30-month sentences, to run concurrently with each other, along with his one-year state sentence for conspiracy to defraud the state.
