Ex-Nazi death-camp guard deported by US to USSR
Feodor Fedorenko, a former Nazi death camp guard in the Ukraine, was deported to the Soviet Union aboard a plane from Philadelphia Wednesday night, a Justice Department source said yesterday, on condition of remaining anonymous.
The retired Mr. Fedorenko, who lived in the United States 35 years, is the first Nazi ever deported by the US to the USSR. He was found to have obtained US citizenship illegally in 1970 because he lied to immigration officials when entering the country in 1949.
