I long to be the woman in the painting, in paisley smock and burnished oak room, sunlight glancing through airy lace as she places wildflowers in a copper vase. And not in this stone-cold apartment, with bone-white walls and hollow doors and standard aluminum windowframes, in denim issue, hammer in hand to hang this picture to relieve the bland.
Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.
