In the Ice Age

The northern winter sky looms like a glacier, high white, stratified and cold as if the ice of old had returned in crowds of massed resistless clouds. They tower over all I see, and over me! I am as thin and small as they are wide and tall; and I feel how it would have been had I lived here - back then when they marched down to stand and gigantically rule in the land.
