A DISNEY FILM FESTIVAL will be held in three Soviet cities Oct. 15-19. The films to be shown are ``Bambi,'' ``101 Dalmatians,'' ``Fantasia,'' `Snow White,'' and four animated short films starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. There will be four screenings a day in Moscow, Leningrad, and Tallinn. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the American-Soviet Film Initiative, among other organizations. BEATLES RECORDINGS - all the studio works - will be released sometime in October as a boxed set produced by Capitol Records and EMI Records of Britain. The collection, made up of the 15 Beatles albums already released on compact disc, will be available for the first time on vinyl and cassettes. `CABARET COMES TO CARNEGIE' will put cabaret acts in the Carnegie Hall spotlight for the first time, Oct. 12-15. Why is Christian Science in our name?

Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

The Church publishes the Monitor because it sees good journalism as vital to progress in the world. Since 1908, we’ve aimed “to injure no man, but to bless all mankind,” as our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, put it.

Here, you’ll find award-winning journalism not driven by commercial influences – a news organization that takes seriously its mission to uplift the world by seeking solutions and finding reasons for credible hope.
