A Spring Poem

Trees lean, you know. Sometimes when they are saplings the snows cover them, weighing them down for a winter, holding them close to the ground. Once walking in the mountains in late spring I passed a tree like that, its trunk not even an inch in diameter, concealed until it sprang up, scattering flakes of ice in the bright sun.
