EASTERN DEAL WITH UEBERROTH IS UNCLEAR
| NEW YORK
Peter Ueberroth's deal to buy Eastern Airlines was up in the air after a deadline expired, but a bankruptcy judge ordered both sides in the negotiations back to his chambers. Mr. Ueberroth and Frank Lorenzo, chairman of Eastern's parent, Texas Air Corporation, walked out of the talks at US Bankruptcy Court Tuesday. The stumbling block was a union demand that a trustee take interim control of strike-bound Eastern while the airline changes hands, sources said.
