Among the many shows celebrating the 150th anniversary of the invention of photography are these highlights selected by David Featherstone, director of publications at Friends of Photography in San Francisco, from the organization's Sesquicentennial Calendar: ``Acceptable Entertainment,'' at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, a selection of photos by 26 contemporary artists who are involved with both the imagery and institution of television, runs from May 16 through June 25.

``Minor White: The Eye That Shapes,'' at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, is on view through June 18.

``Night Light,'' a survey of 20th-century night photography, at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, will open July 23 and continue through Sept. 18.

``Black Photographers Bear Witness'' at the Williams College Museum of Art, in Massachusetts runs through Oct. 8.
