KOREAN STUDENTS RALLY TO DEMAND US WITHDRAWAL

Radical students held campus protests and burned United States flags yesterday to demand the expulsion of US troops from South Korea, and protesters armed with iron bars attacked police headquarters. Student groups called for a week of protests in Seoul and other cities to demand the withdrawal of the 43,000 US troops based in South Korea under a mutual defense treaty. Radical leaders claim the US helps prop up authoritarian rule in South Korea.
