HURRICANE COULD THREATEN US COASTLINE

Hurricane Gabrielle continued Tuesday through the Atlantic on a path forecasters said would probably take it just north of the Caribbean islands and then threaten the US coastline later this week. If Gabrielle, the strongest Atlantic hurricane of 1989, moves toward the US mainland instead of curving northward, it could threaten a stretch of coastline from Florida to the Carolinas, forecasters said.
