JUDGES FIND INEQUITY IN TEXAS SCHOOLS

A ruling that the funding of Texas schools is unconstitutional will mean a chance at equality for poorer districts in the nation's second-largest school system, a lawyer in the case says. Monday's unanimous 9-to-0 decision by the Texas Supreme Court found ``glaring disparities'' between rich and poor school districts and said financing for Texas' 3.3 million students must be overhauled by May.
