MOST PENSIONS WELL COVERED BY ASSETS

Major US corporations had on average 58 percent more assets than necessary to cover accumulated pension obligations at the end of 1988, according to a survey of 366 of the Fortune 500 Industrial and Service companies by Buck Consultants Inc. That was down from 61 percent the year before.
