DEMAND LARGE FOR MOBILE TELEPHONES

Half of all United States households want portable communications equipment that would let them never be out of touch, consulting firm Arthur D. Little reports. A recent survey indicates that within three to five years, 42.5 million US residences would like to buy wireless personal communications services. Of them, 12 million actually will, the firm estimates.
