LAS VEGAS BEST, BOSTON WORST 1989 ECONOMIC PERFORMERS

A comparison of the 1989 economic performance of the largest 75 United States metropolitan areas found Las Vegas the best and Boston and Worcester, Mass., the worst. Las Vegas had better than 11 percent growth, while Boston and Worcester contracted 1 percent, according to the Alphametrics Corporation, an economics consulting firm.
