ALLEGED MAFIA BOSS CHARGED WITH ORDERING FOUR MURDERS
| NEW YORK
Reputed Mafia kingpin John Gotti, called ``the Teflon Don'' for his ability to beat previous efforts to convict him, was charged Wednesday with ordering four murders, including that of the man whose death made him the most powerful gang leader in the United States. In announcing the long-expected indictment of Mr. Gotti for the 1985 slaying of Gambino crime family boss Paul Castelano, federal prosecutors said they had a rock-solid case against him and three of his top lieutenants.
Gotti pleaded not guilty to the charges.
