MANUFACTURING REBOUND HINTED

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia said Friday the local manufacturing economy seems to be slowing its slide and could start heading upward by September. In its monthly survey of manufacturers, the bank said that while the overall Index of Current Activity was minus 8.9 percent, more manufacturers said in March that business is improving than did in February. And fewer were saying it was still slowing.
