FRANCHISES POPULAR AMONG WOMEN
| MENLO PARK, CALIF.
More women are becoming entrepreneurs by purchasing business franchises, according to a report from Adia Personnel Services, a California-based employment service firm. As many as one in four prospective franchise buyers are women, up from one in six in 1986, the report says. Nearly 40 percent of all business owners today are women, according to Karin Somogyi, of Adia Personnel. She predicts they may well comprise half by the year 2000.
