40 PERCENT OF US ADULTS USE PCs

Almost 40 percent of adult Americans use a personal computer, according to a PC Magazine survey conducted by the Wirthlin Group.A sample of 1,000 adults shows 79 percent of PC users use them at work while 21 percent of them use PCs at home. Nearly one-third of PC users think that the personal computer has actually increased workloads, causing people to work longer hours, rather than creating more leisure time. Released at the 10th anniversary of the IBM PC yesterday, the survey shows, however, that PCs have made users more productive in business, able to do more complex projects.
