United States nuclear power plants generated 9.5 percent more electricity in 1990 than in 1989, according to the 1991 Nuclear Industry Performance Compendium publish by Temple, Barker & Sloane Inc., a consulting firmDuring the same period, the average reactor unit's operation costs rose 6 percent and the average cost per kilowatt-hour generated increased 1.5 percent, the report says.
