Even if the weather is much colder than last year and there is a sharp increase in demand, there will be adequate supplies of heating oil in the US for the coming winter, according to the American Petroleum Institute. Preliminary forecasts are for demand this winter to be up 10 percent from 1990 - a return to typical previous levels.
