CROATIA SOUNDS ALARM ON BOSNIA REFUGEES

Croatia said yesterday it could not cope with any more refugees from Bosnia-Herzegovina and called for an urgent meeting with neighboring countries to try to share the problem.

Foreign Minister Zvonimir Separovic, in a letter to foreign ministers of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE), said Croatia was already caring for 350,000 displaced persons from Bosnia.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ante Babic said Croatia also wanted help from Germany and Switzerland and had sent urgent appeals to the CSCE and the United Nations.
