JUST OVER HALF US FIRMS HAVE FEMALE DIRECTOR

Almost half of the major American companies still do not have a woman serving as a corporate director, according to a survey by Catalyst, a nonprofit research organization.

The survey of the Fortune 500 and Service 500 companies shows that about 60 percent of service companies have a female director, compared to 44 percent of industrial firms.

Of the 519 companies where women serve as directors, 133 of them have more than one woman director.
