WAREHOUSE CLUB SALES GROW

* In 1991, sales at warehouse membership clubs grew 34 percent to reach $29 billion, according to Packaged Facts, a research firm. This marked the first time that the annual growth rate has increased since 1987, though sales have been growing steadily every year.

Warehouse membership clubs are expected to thrive the '90s. Overall sales increased by more than 250 percent between 1987 and 1991.
