In an age of technology, it must be appropriate: The Washington-DC based Institute for Business Technology has selected a "National Clean Out Your Computer Day" - Dec. 10.

Cleaning out overloaded computer systems in December can mean the difference between getting a fast start in the new year or wasting months trying to retrieve files from slow systems, the consultants state.

Receiving 50 or 100 electronic mail messages a day is becoming common.
