WEST BANK UNREST CONTINUES

Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian and wounded 11 in clashes yesterday after the Army lifted a four-day curfew in the occupied Gaza Strip, hospital sources said.

The unrest occurred as Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin told Jewish students his decision to expel the 415 Palestinians had curbed violence in the occupied territories.

The curfew was imposed on Gaza before Friday's 28th anniversary of the launching of Palestine Liberation Organization chairman Yasser Arafat's mainstream Fatah movement.
