CLERKS FRIENDLY BUT SERVICE TAKES FOREVER

Retailers are satisfying shoppers in areas that shoppers view as least important, such as the friendliness of employees and the roominess of the store. However, shoppers were far less satisfied in areas they rate as the most important, primarily in the area of time, including check-out time and the time it takes to pay with a credit card or check.

These findings come from a survey on shopper attitudes and experiences by Arena Systems, a supplier of computer software.
