BROADWAY ANNOUNCES TONY AWARD NOMINATIONS

The New York theater community heads toward its big awards night with a list of 1993 nominations announced Monday. The June 6 awards will be televised by CBS.

Play: "Angels in America: Millennium Approaches" by Tony Kushner; "Someone Who'll Watch Over Me" by Frank McGuinness; "The Sisters Rosensweig" by Wendy Wasserstein; and "The Song of Jacob Zulu" by Tug Yourgrau.

Musical: "Blood Brothers"; "Kiss of the Spider Woman"; "The Goodbye Girl"; and "The Who's Tommy."

Revival: "Anna Christie"; "Saint Joan"; "The Price"; "Wilder, Wilder, Wilder."

Actor in a play: K. Todd Freeman in "The Song of Jacob Zulu"; Ron Leibman in "Angels in America: Millennium Approaches"; Liam Neeson in "Anna Christie"; and Stephen Rea in "Someone Who'll Watch Over Me."

Actress in a play: Jane Alexander for "The Sisters Rosensweig"; Madeleine Kahn for "The Sisters Rosensweig"; Lynn Redgrave for "Shakespeare for My Father"; and Natasha Richardson for "Anna Christie."

Actor in a musical: Brent Carver in "Kiss of the Spider Woman"; Tim Curry in "My Favorite Year"; Con O'Neill in "Blood Brothers"; and Martin Short in "The Goodbye Girl."

Actress in a musical: Ann Crumb in "Anna Karenina"; Stephanie Lawrence in "Blood Brothers"; Bernadette Peters in "The Goodbye Girl"; Chita Rivera in "Kiss of the Spider Woman."
