COMMISSION TACKLES US LABOR LAWS

Many Americans think reducing litigation and government "red tape" in the workplace is the most important issue facing the new President's Commission for the Future of Worker-Management Relations, according to a survey by Penn & Schoen for the Employment Policy Foundation.

The public is generally satisfied with the current balance between organized labor and business, the poll shows. A small majority believes the law allowing employers to permanently replace strikers should be retained.
