Clinton to campaign in eight states

PRESIDENT Clinton's campaign schedule for the coming week is packed with appearances aimed at turning out core Democratic voters, particularly the elderly and minorities, on Election Day. It includes a number of appearances on behalf of candidates who in the past had been wary of a presidential visit.

Today, Clinton plans two stops in Pennsylvania for Democrats US Sen. Harris Wofford and gubernatorial candidate Mark Singel. Until recently, the Wofford campaign wasn't sure whether a Clinton visit would help or hurt.

Other scheduled Clinton stops in the coming week include Ohio, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Washington, Rhode Island, and California.
