MORE than 40 percent of respondents to a recent survey said they own at least one cordless phone.

According to the survey by the Electronic Industries Association, 7 percent own two cordless phones, and 2 percent own more than two. Phones and answering machines, the survey found, are used most for personal reasons. Twenty-seven percent of respondents said they use corded phones for both personal and business reasons, whereas only 1 percent said they use these phones for business reasons only.
